Work schedules

Full-time, part-time or custom working weeks per person.

1 min read

A work schedule records the hours shape a person works: how many hours a day and how many a week. It is separate from which days of the week are working days, which is a workspace-wide setting. Work schedules live under Settings and need the manage company settings permission.

Working days versus working hours

The set of working weekdays is the same for the whole workspace: it comes from the work week in Company settings. A work schedule does not change which days are worked; it only carries the hours a person is contracted for. That keeps a Monday-to-Friday company consistent while still letting individuals differ on hours.

Create a schedule

Add a schedule with an English and a Hungarian name, then set the daily hours (a whole number from 1 to 24). Weekly hours are optional: leave them blank and Ferio fills them in as the number of working weekdays times the daily hours. Set them by hand when a contract states a specific weekly total.

Assign people

Attach each person to the schedule that matches their contract: a full-time default, a part-time schedule, or a custom one. Each schedule shows how many people are on it. Use schedules to describe part-time and reduced-hours arrangements cleanly rather than juggling them per request.

Adjust the work week for everyone in Company settings; use work schedules for the per-person hours that sit on top of it.
