Requests and approvals

Edit, cancel or withdraw a request

Change a pending request, or cancel an approved one.

1 min read

A request that is still waiting for a decision can be pulled back at any time. An approved request can be cancelled too, and the days go straight back to your balance.

Withdraw a pending request

In My Leave, find the request and open the row menu (the three-dot kebab on the right), then choose Cancel request and confirm. The days that were held as pending are released at once, and your approver is notified that the request is gone. No approval is needed to withdraw your own pending request.

Change a request you already sent

Ferio does not edit a submitted request in place. To change the dates, the leave type or the note, cancel the original and submit a new one. Your live balance already reflects the cancellation, so the working-day count on the new request is accurate.

For a walk-through of the fields, see Request time off.

Cancel an approved request

You can cancel your own approved leave while it is still in the future. Open the request and choose Cancel, or use the row menu in My Leave. The approved days move back from used to available. Once the leave has started or finished, ask your team lead or HR admin to cancel it for you.

Cancelling also removes the matching event from any connected calendar, so your team calendar stays in step.
